Breakfast Club is held in Room 17, open from 8:30 am to 8:50 am. A variety of options are available, including toast with spreads (peanut butter, nutella, jam, marmite, honey, or butter), porridge, weet-bix, and baked beans.
During morning tea, children have access to fresh fruit, trail mix (dried fruit and nuts), muesli bars, and fruit pottles – all provided at no cost. At lunchtime, Ka Pai Kai delivers free lunches to our students. The menu changes each term based on feedback from students and parents. All of our meals are made from scratch here in Rotorua by our staff and volunteers.
Our meals use high quality ingredients like free range eggs and wholegrain breads and ALL our meals contain a variety of vegetables to make sure your tamariki get the nutrients their brains need to be able to learn well at school. Our sweets are all naturally sweetened with fruit not sugar, and made from wholegrains, so even though they taste like a treat they are still good for our bodies.
Western Heights Primary is a water only school.
You can support us by:
- Ensuring your child has a water bottle.
- Ensuring sugary drinks are not part of your child’s school lunch.
- When bringing in special lunches such as Mc Donalds, select water as the combo drink.
- Any sugary drinks bought to school will be put aside and given back to the child at the end of the day.
We look forward to your support in improving the health of our tamariki.
